Conserving Nature's Foundation: Biodiversity & Ecosystems

The World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD)'s Cement Sustainability Initiative (CSI) presents with great honour its 8th annual forum meeting in Cartagena de Indias, Colombia, a city full of history, a listed UNESCO World Heritage Site, which is also located in an area of outstanding natural beauty and ecological richness. The event this year will be hosted by CSI member Cementos Argos.
WHAT is on the programme?
The two-day programme will consist of a themed plenary featuring inspirational speakers, breakout dialogues and engaging interaction amongst leading experts. The event will showcase how effective biodiversity and ecosystems management can co-exist sustainably with successful business operations for cement producers.
Presentations will cover the challenges and opportunities faced by the sector on issues associated with biodiversity and ecosystems services. Companies will share good practices of pragmatic solutions that have been implemented. And prominent leaders from the conservation world will join the discussion in exploring how the sector can best meet stakeholders' expectation and examine the merits of the different approaches.

WHERE is the venue?
The meeting this year will take place in Radisson Cartagena Ocean Pavillion Hotel (Carrera 9 #22-850, Cartagena Bolivar Colombia). Situated directly on La Boquilla Beach, the hotel is a brand new property located just minutes away from the ancient walled city, Rafael Núñez International Airport (CTG) and a variety of popular attractions.
