The CSI Forum 2008 took place in Houston, Texas on 29 September to 1 October 2008. The agenda covered a day and a half of plenary and breakout sessions, and more than 70 participants (CSI members and external guests) joined the discussions.
After welcomes, CSI Director Howard Klee introduced the Forum and provided a CSI status update. In the Perspectives from around the world session, cement Trade Associations presented on their work in different regions as well as key issues they are currently working on with their member companies. Jianyu Zhang presented on perspectives from China, and to end the morning, Claude Mandil gave his reflections on the issues the CSI is currently tackling.
Over lunch, participants were addressed by Dan Pellissier from the California Environmental Protection Agency who explained the Agency's vision for "Reducing CO2 Emissions from Cement Use".
