CSI warmly welcomes it two new members: Dalmia Cement from India and GCC from Mexico. With its 24 members operating in over 100 countries worldwide, CSI is committed to serve as a platform for a shared understanding and management of sustainability issues in the cement sector.
Dalmia Cement from India and Grupo Cementos de Chihuahua (GCC) from Mexico joined the Cement Sustainability Initiative (CSI) in pursuance of sustainable development with the cement industry and beyond.
Starting from 1941, GCC produces, distributes and markets cement, ready-mixed concrete, aggregates and innovative products related to the construction industries in Mexico, United States and Bolivia. GCC is a socially responsible, community-oriented company which reflects the confidence of stakeholders and residents at its operating locations.
Dalmia Cement is a leading cement producer with strong presence in southern & eastern region in India. With a strong believe in sustainability as a key metric for business. The company endeavours its efforts to be environmentally responsible and adopts various green practices, including energy conservation and environmental management plans in different part of operations for years.
Today, the CSI represents 24 member companies with operations in over 100 countries accounting for about one third of global cement production. Members are headquartered in: Brazil, China, Colombia, France, Germany, Greece, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Portugal, Switzerland, and Thailand. We will continue to strength our presence in fast-growing markets to ensure a proper representativeness of the current and future cement and concrete market.
